You Yang

You Yang is a DMA candidate and teaching fellow major in Flute Performance at the University of North Texas (UNT). As a soloist, she is the first prize winner and the Best Performance for the Newly Commissioned Work  for the 2021 Myrna Brown Competition. She has been prizewinners for the Philadelphia Flute Society Young Artist Competition, Atlanta Flute Club Young Artist Competition, and the NFA Masterclass Competition. As an orchestral player, she was a full scholarship recipient of the 2020 Detroit Symphony Orchestra Summer Institute, the substitute flutist for the New World Symphony 2020-2021 season, and an opera orchestra fellow at Miami Music Festival in 2019. As a teacher, she has been holding a private teaching studio for a year, and she also teaches music major undergraduates and coaches chamber groups at UNT.  Read more in the “About” tab
